Scalloped Potatoes With Cheese - cooking recipe

3 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. milk
1 1/4 c. sharp cheese, packed down
1/4 tsp. salt and pepper
1 qt. cubed boiled potatoes (3/4-inch pieces)
1/4 c. fine bread crumbs
Preparation

Melt butter in 1-quart saucepan over low heat.
Remove from heat.
Gradually stir in milk and flour.
Cook, stirring constantly, until thick.
Stir in 1 cup cheese and salt and pepper.
Pour potatoes into 2-quart casserole.
Cover potatoes with sauce.
Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup cheese and bread crumbs.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until bubbly.
