Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/4 c. Musselman's applesauce
    1 egg
    1 c. raisins
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Sift onto wax paper, flour, baking soda, salt and spices.
    Beat in 3-quart bowl, brown sugar, egg and shortening until light and fluffy.
    Mix in dry ingredients alternately with applesauce.
    Stir in raisins.
    Pour into greased 8-inch square pan.
    Bake 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
    Serve warm or cool.
    Sift powdered sugar lightly over top before serving.
