Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    green tomatoes, sliced
    salt and pepper to taste
    corn meal, flour or a mixture of both
    oil
Preparation
    Mix salt, pepper and meal (or use self-rising meal).
    Put about 1/4-inch of cooking oil in cast iron skillet.
    Heat until sizzling.
    Dip tomato slices (both sides) in meal a few at a time. Fry one side at a time until golden brown; drain well on paper towels. Serve hot.
