Banana-Bran Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 well beaten egg
    1 c. bran (All-Bran or flakes)
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 1/2 c. mashed bananas (about 4)
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, then bran. Combine water and bananas (in blender if possible).
    Add alternately with dry ingredients.
    Mix thoroughly and add vanilla and nuts.
    Use a 5 x 9-inch greased pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    I use these as muffins.
    Makes 12 medium.
