Pasole With Pork - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. boneless pork, cut into chunks
    6 c. water
    5 c. hominy (half yellow, half white)
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    2 tsp. leaf oregano
    3 red chile pods or 3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 1/2 to 2 tsp. salt (or to taste)
Preparation
    Place pork and water in a saucepan and cook, covered, until meat is tender (1 hour).
    Drain hominy.
    Add remaining ingredients, tasting for salt.
    Serves 8 to 10 people.
