White Clam Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion
    1 to 3 cloves garlic, pressed
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. flour
    3 (6 1/2 oz. each) cans minced clams (do not drain)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. snipped parsley
Preparation
    Cook onion in butter until tender.
    Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
    (Do not brown.)
    Stir in flour and mix well.
    Add clams with liquid, salt, basil and pepper.
    Heat to a boil, reduce and simmer 5 minutes.
    Add parsley.
    Serve with 8 ounces pasta and Parmesan cheese.
