Okra - cooking recipe
Ingredients

fresh okra
olive oil
onion, sliced (optional)
fresh tomato wedges (optional)
bacon (optional)
thin pieces of ham (optional)
Preparation

Rinse fresh okra.
Slice lengthwise in half, salt liberally and saute in skillet in olive oil.
Cover and stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
Cook over low-medium heat until okra is very tender.
May add sliced onion, fresh tomato wedges, also bacon or thin pieces of ham at beginning of saute.
