Cranberry Pork Chops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 (3/4 inch thick) pork chops
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 tsp. cornstarch
    1 (8 oz.) can whole cranberry sauce
    1/4 c. barbecue sauce
Preparation
    Brown chops in skillet with shortening. Season with salt, pepper, cloves and nutmeg. Drain excess fat. Combine cranberry sauce, barbecue sauce and 1/4 cup water. Pour over chops. Cover and simmer 1 hour. Remove chops to hot plate and keep warm. Combine cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water. Stir into sauce in skillet. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Spoon over chops. Serve with hot rice.
