Smultringer(Norwegian Munchkin Donuts) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. light cream
    5 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3 eggs
    3 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. cardamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    Crisco shortening
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Add sugar and cream well.
    Add light cream slowly (mixture will separate).
    Beat eggs and add to mix.
    Add cardamon and vanilla.
    Sift flour 3 times with baking powder and salt.
    Add to batter and mix well.
    Let stand overnight in refrigerator.
    Roll out on floured cloth into balls.
    Heat Crisco and fry 6 at a time until golden brown, turning once or twice. Place on layers of paper towels until cool.
    Store in tin with a slice of white bread.
