Corn Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, chopped
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 c. corn meal
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
    1 c. cream-style corn
Preparation
    Cook onion in shortening, until yellowed.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add milk, egg and corn.
    Add onion and mix well.
    Fill greased corn stick pans 2/3 full.
    Bake in a hot 450\u00b0 oven until brown.
