Steamed German Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. whole wheat flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 pt. milk
    1 Tbsp. melted shortening
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 5 Tbsp. hot water
Preparation
    Mix flour, salt and sugar.
    Stir in milk.
    Add the shortening, molasses and soda mixture.
    Place in 1 large or 2 small greased and floured bread pans.
    Cover with similar pans.
    Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours in 350\u00b0 oven.
