Ingredients

1 c. dark brown sugar
2 c. milk
3 egg yolks
1 stick butter
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. water
Preparation

Take a 1/4 cup water and mix with brown sugar and butter. Bring to a boil.
Mix eggs, milk, cornstarch and vanilla, beating well.
Add it to the hot syrup mixture.
Heat until thick.
Beat egg whites for topping for pies.
