Fudge Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. sugar, divided
    2 eggs, separated
    4 squares bittersweet chocolate, melted
    2 c. cake flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 c, nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening, add just 1 1/2 cups sugar and beaten egg yolks. Cream well.
