Depression Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    4 to 6 potatoes
    4 to 6 carrots
    1 small onion
    2 cans tomato soup
    2 soup cans water
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Mix well the tomato soup and water.
    Cut vegetables into chunks.
    Brown meat.
    Drain off grease.
    Put meat in Dutch oven. Layer meat and vegetables.
    Pour over the soup/water.
    Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until vegetables are tender.
