Sweet-Sour Carrot Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. carrots
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. tarragon vinegar
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 1/2-inch stick cinnamon, broken (or ground cinnamon to taste)
    3 to 6 whole cloves
Preparation
    Peel and cut carrots into 1/4-inch slices.
    Cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
    Drain, saving 3/4 cup.
    Add this water to sugar, vinegar and mustard seed.
    Add carrots and bring to boil.
    (Tie spices in a bag, I use a tea ball.)
    Simmer 10 minutes.
    Chill in \"fridge.\" Drain before serving.
