Raspberry Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 pt. fresh or frozen raspberries
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cream the butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
    Add the egg, flour and baking powder.
    Put the raspberries in a 9-inch plate and sprinkle with the 1/2 cup sugar.
    Spread batter over the berries.
    Bake 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
    May substitute the raspberries for strawberries, if desired.
