Peanut Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. chopped salted peanuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Lightly grease a 9 x 9 x 1 3/4-inch pan.
    In top of double boiler, melt chocolate and shortening over hot, not boiling, water.
    Remove from hot water.
    With wooden spoon, beat in sugar, eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
    Sift flour with baking powder into chocolate mixture; stir to mix well.
    Stir in peanuts.
    Turn mixture into prepared pan.
    Bake 30 minutes. Let cool.
    Cut into squares.
