Frosted Apple Cake - cooking recipe

2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. applesauce
3/4 c. vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts, chopped, divided
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13x9-inch baking pan. Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl. Add applesauce, oil, vanilla and eggs. Beat at low speed until moistened. Then beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Fold in 1/2 cup walnuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Makes 16 servings.
