Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

1 (32 oz.) hash brown potatoes, thawed
3/4 c. melted butter
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 (8 oz.) sour cream
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
