Amy Henson'S Black Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) box \"Bean Cuisine\" black turtle beans
    2 lb. shredded ham
    2 medium onions, diced
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
    2 bell peppers (1 red and 1 green), diced
    1 bay leaf
    2 Tbsp. sweet basil
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cumin
    1 tsp. fennel seed
    1 tsp. oregano
    3 c. orange juice
Preparation
    Soak beans for 4 hours or overnight.
    Drain and rinse.
    Cover the beans with water and simmer 2 to 3 hours
    (add more water as needed).
