Peanut Blossoms - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg (unbeaten)
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
candy kisses

Preparation

Mix shortening and sugars.
Add peanut butter, egg, milk and vanilla.
Gradually blend in the dry ingredients and mix well. Shape by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.
Roll in sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and place a solid milk chocolate candy kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down to secure.
Makes 3 dozen.
