Microwave Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chicken, cut up (2 1/2 to 3 1/2 lb.)
    2 c. hot tap water
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    4 medium carrots, sliced
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. cold water
Preparation
    In 3-quart casserole, place chicken, water, onion, celery, carrots, salt and pepper; cover.
    Microwave at Medium-high for 15 minutes.
    Stir together cornstarch and water; add to chicken mix. Cover and microwave at Medium-high for 10 to 20 minutes or until chicken is tender.
    Spoon on dumplings around edge of dish. Microwave at Medium-high 5 to 6 minutes, covered, until puffed and not doughy.
