Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    3 Tbsp. oil
    1 (1 lb. 3 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 bay leaf, crushed
    1 (1 lb. 4 oz.) can red kidney beans
    1/2 c. water
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
Preparation
    Brown onion in oil.
    Add beef and green pepper; brown.
    Add tomatoes, salt, bay leaf and chili powder.
    Cover; cook 1 hour. Add beans and water and simmer 5 minutes.
