Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 large egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. pineapple juice, drained from pineapple
    1 stick butter
    1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
    sliced pineapple
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar, gradually adding sugar until mixture is light and fluffy.
    Add egg and beat well.
    Add vanilla and beat again.
    Sift and measure flour and add salt and baking powder.
    Sift together.
    Add dry ingredients to shortening mixture, adding dry ingredients alternately with pineapple juice. Beat until smooth after each addition.
