Graham Date Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. margarine
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. coconut
    1 c. chopped dates
    graham crackers
Preparation
    Mix together the first 4 ingredients.
    Bring to boil; cook until thickened, about 4 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add coconut and dates.
    Place whole crackers in a 10 1/2 x 15 1/2-inch pan. Pour the first mixture over crackers.
    Place another layer of crackers on top.
    Make glaze.
