Gourmet Onions Vidalia Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 medium Vidalia onions, sliced into rings
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. m.s.g. (optional)
    1/3 c. butter
    1/2 c. sherry wine
    2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Mix salt, sugar, pepper and m.s.g., if using.
    Sprinkle over sliced onions.
    Mix and let set 5 minutes.
    Drain.
    Saute onions in butter 5 to 8 minutes until tender, stirring to separate into rings.
    Add sherry and cook quickly 2 to 3 minutes.
    Sprinkle with cheese and serve.
