Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 box raisins
1/3 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. soda
flour to make a medium batter (about 3 c.)

Preparation

First cream sugar and shortening together; then add eggs and beat.
Cook box of raisins in water until tender and have 1 cup of raisin water.
Then add soda to hot raisin water.
Add the raisins and water, spices, cocoa and flour.
Bake about 1/2 hour at 375\u00b0 or until done.
