Ingredients

3 1/4 c. flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 1/2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
1 Tbsp. ground ginger
3/4 tsp. ground allspice
3/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/4 c. oleo (at room temperature)
1 3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
Preparation

Mix flour, baking powder and spices.
In a large bowl, beat oleo and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until blended. Divide dough in thirds.
Shape each into a ball. Flatten to 1-inch thick rounds. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour or until firm enough to roll.
