Gingersnaps Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 tsp. ginger
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Combine shortening, sugar and egg in a bowl.
    Beat until fluffy, add molasses and beat well.
    Stir dry ingredients together and add to shortening mixture.
    Mix well and chill dough thoroughly.
    Shape into one-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar.
    Place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Yields 4 dozen.
