Sherry Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. soy sauce
    2 c. sherry
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    3 cloves garlic
    1 thin slice ginger, finely chopped or dash of ginger powder
    2 Tbsp. peanut oil
    1 to 2 lb. chicken parts
Preparation
    Heat skillet on moderate fire (300\u00b0).
    Add oil and heat thoroughly.
    Brown chicken on all sides.
    Drain off excess oil. Combine soy sauce, sherry, sugar and garlic.
    Pour into pan with chicken.
    Bring to a boil.
    Boil for 25 minutes in a covered pan. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
