Creamy Coffee Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. hot strong coffee
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 qt. vanilla ice cream
    whipped cream (optional)
Preparation
    Combine coffee and sugar, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Chill thoroughly.
    Combine coffee mixture, milk and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Add ice cream by spoonfuls, stirring gently.
    Ladle into serving cups.
    If desired, top each with whipped cream.
    Yields about 3 1/2 quarts.
