Sand Tarts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. powdered sugar
    2 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 c. pecans, finely chopped
    20 candied cherries
Preparation
    Mix all (except powdered sugar).
    Form circles or small crescent shapes.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Roll each in the 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
