Kashmiri Pulao Rice - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. water
1 c. rice
1 tsp. sugar
3/4 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. dried mint flakes
2 Tbsp. shortening
4 whole cloves
1/2-inch cinnamon stick
2 small onions, chopped
1 (4 oz.) pkg. slivered almonds
1/2 c. golden raisins
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 green hot pepper, chopped
Preparation

Bring water to boil.
Add rice. Stir.
Cover pan, lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove lid and stir rice well.
Remove to platter and allow to cool.
Mix cooled rice with sugar, salt, garlic powder and mint.
Set aside.
