Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 carrots, diced
    3 onions, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 can tomato soup
    8 potatoes, quartered
    2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 c. water
    2 lb. stew beef, chopped
Preparation
    Combine flour, salt and pepper in pie pan.
    Dredge meat in flour mixture.
    In a large heavy saucepan, melt shortening.
    Add beef. Cook until browned on both sides. Add water and simmer, covered, for 90 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add soup, onions, carrots and potatoes. Cook 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
