Glorified Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (13 1/2 oz.) can pineapple tidbits
    1 c. Minute rice
    3/4 tsp. salt
    6 maraschino cherries, diced
    1 c. whipping cream
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. (about 12) diced marshmallows
Preparation
    Drain pineapple, measuring syrup.
    Add water to syrup to make 1 1/4 cups.
    Bring to a boil.
    Stir in rice.
    Add salt.
    Cover and remove from heat.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Add cherries and pineapple.
    Chill thoroughly.
    Combine cream and sugar.
    Whip. Fold whipped cream into rice.
