Fruit Cocktail Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 beaten egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 can (2 c.) fruit cocktail
    1/2 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift together flour, soda, salt and white sugar.
    Add egg, vanilla and fruit cocktail.
    Pour into greased pan.
    Over batter, sprinkle 1/2 cup light brown sugar and nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
    Serve with whipped cream.
