Squash-Apple Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. squash or pumpkin, cut in 1-inch chunks
    1 1/2 c. apples, pared, cut into 1 1/2-inch slices
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Melt butter.
    Combine with brown sugar, cinnamon, nuts and salt.
    Alternate layers of squash and apples.
    Drizzle each with butter mixture.
    Cover and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 45 to 60 minutes.
    May also be baked in microwave oven.
