Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    3/4 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. broken nuts
    3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Place in saucepan over low heat the sugar, corn syrup and water.
    Stir until dissolved, then cook without stirring to 255\u00b0 (a little dropped into cold water forms a hard ball).
    Remove from heat and pour in a fine stream into stiffly beaten egg whites, beating constantly.
    Continue beating until mixture holds it shape and loses its gloss.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Drop quickly from tip of spoon onto waxed paper in individual peaks.
    Makes 8 dozen pieces.
