Spiced Poached Pears - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. dry white wine
1/2 c. orange juice
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 1/2 sticks cinnamon
6 large pears, peeled, halved and cored
orange zest
vanilla ice cream
Preparation

In a large pan, combine wine, orange juice, brown sugar and cinnamon.
Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Add pear halves.
Cover and cook for about 20 minutes until pears are translucent.
Remove cinnamon stick; cool slightly.
Garnish with orange zest.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
