Christmas Date Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 c. ground dates
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook milk and sugar
    to
    a
    soft ball stage.
    Add dates and stir until well
    mixed
    and
    then
    cook
    to
    the hard ball stage. Remove from heat.
    Add nuts and vanilla and cool until it can be kneaded.
    Shape
    in
    long roll in cloth wrung out of cold water. Roll in sugar, then wrap in wax paper.
    The candy will keep indefinitely and is moist and delicious.
