Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. hot water
1/2 c. white syrup
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1/16 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. butter
3/4 lb. Spanish peanuts
Preparation

Mix water, sugar, syrup and salt in a saucepan, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
Bring to a boil; boil for 3 minutes. Continue cooking until syrup takes on a rich caramel color at 320\u00b0.
Have peanuts spread out on a 12 x 12 x 19-inch buttered shallow enamel ware pan, a marble slab or an enamel kitchen top. When candy gets to 320\u00b0 stir in butter and soda.
Stir well and quickly pour out on peanuts.
Let cool and break.
