1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed firmly
1 egg
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla extract
10 oz. white chocolate, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. Macadamia nuts, lightly toasted
Preparation

Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed. Add egg and beat well. In a separate bowl, combine flour, soda and salt; add to butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in vanilla, white chocolate and nuts. Chill for 1 hour.
Drop dough by spoonful 3-inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes. (Cookies will be soft.) Cool slightly on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack to cool completely. Yield: 3 dozen.
