Cranberry-Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. fresh cranberries
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. shortening
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. mashed banana
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Combine cranberries, 1 cup sugar and water.
    Cook over medium heat until berries pop (about 5 minutes); drain.
    Cream shortening and 2/3 cup sugar, beat until light.
    Add eggs and beat.
    Combine dry ingredients, creamed mixture and bananas.
    Mix well.
    Add cranberries and walnuts.
