Ingredients

1 egg
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. dark molasses
3 c. sifted flour
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. chopped, mixed candied fruit and peel
1/2 c. slivered blanched almonds
Preparation

Beat egg, add brown sugar and beat until fluffy.
Stir in honey and molasses.
Sift together dry ingredients and add to first mixture; mix well.
Stir in fruits, peel and nuts.
Chill several hours or overnight.
On lightly floured surface, roll to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut in rectangles, 3 1/2 x 1/2-inch.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) about 12 minutes.
Cool slightly before removing from pan.
Makes about 2 dozen.
