Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. white cornmeal
1 egg
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. milk or water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 medium onion, minced

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients and onion.
Add egg and mix well.
Add liquid and mix well.
Drop by teaspoon into deep fat at 375\u00b0 or into skillet with 1-inch fat.
Fry each side until brown.
