*Chiffon Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour, sifted (Gold Medal)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. Wesson oil
    7 unbeaten egg yolks
    3/4 c. cold water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. egg whites (7 or 8)
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    3/4 c. shredded coconut (if desired)
    1 tsp. almond extract
Preparation
    Heat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Use ungreased tube pan.
    Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.
    Make a well and add the oil, egg yolks, almonds, water and vanilla.
    Beat 1 minute on medium speed.
    Put egg whites and cream of tartar in a large mixing bowl; beat until very stiff peaks form.
    Pour egg yolk mixture over and fold in (this is an important step).
    Do not stir.
    Fold in coconut.
