Mississippi Mud - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/3 c. cocoa
    4 whole eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 pkg. miniature marshmallows
    1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Mix in eggs and vanilla.
    Sift flour, cocoa and salt together; add to first mixture and mix well. Stir in pecans.
    Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for about 45 minutes at 300\u00b0.
    Remove from oven, turn oven off and spread marshmallows over top of cake; return to oven for 10 minutes or until marshmallows melt.
    Cool, then ice.
