Toad In The Hole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. milk
    1/2 lb. precooked sausage links
    1 c. shredded Jarlsberg cheese
    1 small apple, cored, seeded and chopped
    maple syrup or apple butter
Preparation
    In a medium bowl combine first 6 ingredients; beat until smooth and creamy.
    Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0. In a 10-inch dish, arrange sausages in a spoke-like fashion.
    Bake for 5 minutes.
    Fold 1/2 cup cheese into the batter.
    Spoon mixture over sausages and top with apples.
    Let bake for 20 minutes or until puffy and golden.
    Top with remaining cheese and bake until just melted.
    Serve with maple syrup or apple butter.
    Makes 4 servings.
