This Old House Chili Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 small onion, diced
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 (1 lb. 13 oz.) cans pinto beans
1 c. catsup
1/4 lb. ground beef
1/4 lb. bacon, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
Preparation

Saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in brown sugar until well mixed. Combine beans, catsup, ground beef, bacon, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder and hot pepper sauce in a large saucepan. Stir in onion mixture until well mixed.
Cover and simmer over low heat until meat is cooked, about 30 to 35 minutes. Refrigerate overnight to blend flavors.
Reheat to serve.
Makes 8 servings.
