Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. cocoa
    1 c. milk
    1 egg
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
    2 eggs
    2 c. fluffed regular flour
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add well beaten eggs.
    Beat thoroughly.
    Sift flour, baking soda and salt together.
    Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
    Add vanilla and cooled mixture.
    Mix well and pour into 2 nine-inch floured cake pans. Top with Carnation icing, Seven Minute or your choice.
